Stellar Native American Style Basic A Flute With Instruction Book- (Flute Bag Not Included)
The Basic A flute is a wonderful key for any level of flute player, especially someone with small or inflexible hands. It is small enough that most people can comfortably play it, and it has a bright and cheerful voice. Stellar's Basic A flutes are made from unstained western red cedar and come in a wide range of warm brown colors, although the color of the wood may vary from the photos. All of their Basic flutes are crafted from the highest quality western red cedar, a softwood that is light in weight. Cedar is one of the most popular woods for Native American flutes because it adds a resonant quality to the voice of the flute.
This is a six-hole Native American style flute tuned to 440hz, universal concert tuning. It features a removable block to allow for easy condensation removal and proper drying after playing. What's Included: One Native American style flute in the key of A, an Instructional booklet with fingering chart, a Quick Start Flyer with Video Tutorial Link, and a Business card. Not Included: Flute Bag.
As flutes move down in pitch, they get bigger and the fingering holes get further apart and further down on the flute body, making the lower flutes harder to play. The key of A is the smallest and highest pitched of the three basic flutes, making it the best choice for someone with smaller hands or limited flexibility. Many Flute classes will request that you start with this key. The Key of G is the middle-sized Basic flute, and it is the most popular key because of its soothing voice. Most people can easily play this key. The key of F# (F sharp) is the lowest key of the Basic flute, and it is the hardest to play, as the fingering hole stretch on the F# can be uncomfortable for people with smaller hands or those who have never played an instrument before.
Stellar Flutes is a small family-owned business run out of Washington State by father-daughter team Tom Stewart and Lily Wilcox. Their mission is to provide beautiful flutes with high-quality voices, along with free resources for learning and a personalized customer experience. When you write to Stellar Flutes, you are writing to Tom and Lily directly.
Tom founded Stellar in 1995 when he was introduced to the Native American Flute, and the experience of making flutes, honing techniques, and creatively adding to the flute-making technology has been an engaging, arduous, and fulfilling task. Lily is the "Stellar, the next generation," and she can take a flute blank and turn it into a beautifully tuned and finished flute. She runs every aspect of the business from wood working to office management and is the star of all of their flute playing video tutorials.
